The Company We Keep

'I believe demolishing Hussein's military power and liberating Iraq would be a cakewalk.'

The author of this lethally nonsensical statement was assistant to Secretary of Defense Rumsfeld from 1975-77, and arms control director under President Reagan.

AND, he is also now another...wait for it...ENDORSER of Senator Obama!

With friends like these...

The system has been usurped and then developed for the benefit and comfort of the status quo. Surprise, surprise that folks are feeling betrayed. I say we need to bet organized around Progressive Principles, enjoin the many groups that see this usurpation and have progressive values and begin the long slow process of gaining influence...knowing who to trust is the caveat.

Hey, paulrevere! Sorry I missed publishing your comment for so many days! Got to get back to my blog after the mean election season...

You're right on with your assessment--'benefit and comfort of the status quo' is precisely the crux of the matter. Our progressive principles are entirely subordinate to 'the way things are' and the living it's created for our selfish officials.

Time for a real Campaign for Change.
